Hatteras Island has ribbons of creeks fed by the wetlands and the Pamlico Sound. They provide important habitat for the fish and frogs that the Great Egret and other wading birds relish. My watercolor, "Creekside Dining", was inspired by one of these creeks near my home in the maritime forest.
